Baby P - Petit Pois, geddit? (French for Baby Peas)

# The boy was only known as 'little p' in the trial.

(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:14, archived)
# Well I hadn't actually seen a picture of him so....
But I still stand by my first statement. It clearly isn't a joke. Jokes are funny....

...by way of justice, it is easier to distance yourself from a "building", then it is a helpless child being beaten to death.

# a building containing over 3000 innocent people?
hypocritical cunt
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:25, archived)
# I would just like to state
that I think there is a huge difference between the WTC attacks and a defenseless child who had so many things happen to him I can not even bring myself to list them, and wouldn't make anyone else read them either!
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:27, archived)
# Genuine question.
What makes a subject here tabboo? Like I mentioned, Holly and Jessica, and Madeleine were fair game for a long while.
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:30, archived)
# personal preference
thats all it ends up to
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:31, archived)
# That is a very fair question.
To be honest with you, I don't know. There was a post by someone a few months back about one of the kids who was stabbed and killed in London. I personally wasn't keen on it at all, mainly because I knew the boys family. But also, because it was in no way a clever or humorous take on it.

Also, I think the facts over a story affect peoples reaction. Maddy, as far as we know for definite, is simply missing.

Holly and Jessica, we simply know of them being murdered.

Baby P, we know a hell of a lot more details of that, thus, in my opinion, it is a lot harder to distance oneself from it.
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:36, archived)
#
I guess you're right. Although we knew a fair amount about Holly and Jessica after they were found and there were still alot of pictures and even now we get the odd sutcliffe/suffcliffe/whatever references.

# the most wonderful b3ta feature is the "magic button"
one click and it makes all your posts vanish...

EDIT: - aaaaaahhhhhh MUCH better :-)
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:28, archived)
# I think I'll use it as well.
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:29, archived)
# Yep, take the easy way out and ignore me
just shows you are hypocritical and also spineless.
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:29, archived)
# I don't think you'll find too many people who can laugh at the death of a child.
Surely?
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:17, archived)
# But plenty at the deaths of prominent celebs
and innocent office workers?

And Madeleine Mccann?
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:22, archived)
# I thank you
If one person gets it, its a job well done, now where is Monty?
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:24, archived)
# Quite simply
you can have censorship or not when it comes to a matter of taste on b3ta.
It has been chosen 'not' so you really can't complain about any image here that is safe for work.
I find this in extremely poor taste ( the original image ) and can't understand what kind of feeble mind can see any humour in it either, but that being said what can I do? It's b3ta and by all means call them a cunt for making something bad but don't suggest they can't post it unless you want to wear the hypocrisy hat.
You have the hide and ignore features plus the use of adblock if you choose FF.

( not aimed at you, just my opinion of the "what should and should not be posted" debate)
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:29, archived)
# I'd just like to know what triggers off the "this is unacceptable" response. It seems very hit and miss.
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:33, archived)
# The trigger would be personal.
But there is no taboo on b3ta. You can even post porn, you just have to consider the users and link it.
I dislike a huge amount of childish and distasteful stuff on here but I have no right to say it can't be posted.

( and before anyone gets at me I complain about threadwaste rather than tell people not to post shit ).
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:40, archived)
# I at no point said that he shouldn't post it.
I just expressed my opinion that it wasn't funny and in my opinion was rather distasteful.

But as I say, in my opinion.
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:44, archived)
# Thank you
I agree its bad taste, but so are hundreds of images on here every day, whether it be about Maddie, Simon Weston, Diana's crash etc. Anything is fair game, just ignore it if you dont want to see it

Its actually a clever play on words, just happens to be a poor and unfortunate subject
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:33, archived)
# Well I agree up to a point with you.
I just think that this is the kind of story that should make anyone sick.

I have posted above my reasons for why that may be the case.
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:39, archived)
# what's little p?
(, Thu 13 Nov 2008, 19:19, archived)
