I was always nice to people aswell, I think I shall purchase it after xmas or do some trade inseither that or pick up oblivion cheap and play that instead

It's similarin the sense that it's a complete world that you can interact with and effect. It's also basically an RPG. It isn't futuristic though, it's more fantasy-inspired. Please don't let that put you off trying it though. I'm no great fan of fantasy stuff but the gameplay just won me over completely.
