# Sincere apologies for the pearoast
But can anybody give me hints to make this better please? It's a first-time proper shop, but I'm still uncertain as to its quality. Thanks in advance, and more pearoast apologies; I only did it because it's later, and quieter!

The background is a 5 gaussian (sic) blur, foreground is 0.5 just for the shits and giggles.

# what are you using to do the colour stuff?

# Selective colourisation
Layered the pic, blurred and B&W'd the foreground, masked to the coloured background.

# The blurred background seems to be blurring the colours from round the edge of the guy
which seems a bit strange, but I can't work out how it's arranged.

Other than that it looks good!

# I put a 0.5 blur on him
To make him stand out more.

# no it's the 5 pixel one I mean
hmm I will have a go at my own and see if I know what I'm talking about

# Oh
I see it now. Bugger. I'll work on fixing that.

# You should just be able to desaturate the background
depending how you've done it, but it might look best if you clone out the blurred bits of him with the surrounding walls etc.

# Do I remember you saying you did this in GIMP?
