It's not in the manual, but it just might work.

On other news, does anyone know if it's possible to get my iPod to keep it's backlight on when docked and playing so that I have a hope in hell of seeing the menu's/now playing info? It seems very odd if you can't considering they go to all the trouble of makin it possible to operate them remotely. And if you can't, anyone know if there's any place you can ask Apple for it in the next firmware update?
I know you can set it to 'always on' but then you have to remember to keep turning it on n off since they stopped the 'menu held down' shortcut to that n it's a bit of a drain on the battery if you forget.

and the LCD screen is constantly showing info while you use it, and whilst in dock there cannot be any battery drain, and yet the light doesn't stay on so you can see it.
It seems a very odd thing to me.

Or get a docking station with a display. You cheap bastard:P
Admittedly the only reason I have one is I got it from EMAP but i just pop everything on a flash drive and plug it into a cheapy mp3 player I adapted.

It's quite good actually, remarkably beefy sound for a cheapy one, I'd show you a piccy but I can't find it on Argos' shitty search engine
*edit* had to google for it! www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/5380010/iSound-iPod-Alarm-Speaker-Charger-Dock/ProductReviews.html#

And Apple Contact actually tells you quite succinctly NOT to contact them with requests.
Presumably they're terrified of someone suing them for a cut if they use an idea, which I've never understood, just pick any guy who suggested it, ask them if you can use the idea for a certain sum, pick the one that says yes, use the idea, simple.
I'm sure they could afford a few hundred per good idea and they could correct dumb ass problems like this one if enough folks sent in the same idea.
BTW, just been perusing forums, and it would seem no, you cannot get the backlight to stay on when docked and playing, and no, you cannot point this out to Apple.
Nice.

Nice.

I got a radio alarm with remote controlled dock for iPods for Xmas BTW, and it would be lovely if you could SEE what you're remote-controlling without having to walk over and pick up the iPod.
But apparently that would make sense, and we can't have that...

Jesus is the only person allowed to send feature requests to Apple.
