i read this bit::If you use b3ta's built in image hosting, you may upload any image up to around 400kb in file size, and the site will do any resizing work required for you. Animations are not optimisable - if they do not meet file size restrictions, they will be linked with a static image. Files larger than 400kb will be instantly rejected!

yeah that's confusing. that's the size that can be uploaded to the host.but not the size for posting directly on board, if you use the b3ta hosting it will resize the picture and put a link to the big version.

stop apologising, I don't think anyone's upset about it.and the b3ta hosting seems to have gotten harder to find, there used to be a 'post new image link' under the 'my images' thing at the top of the page (cr3 changed it a couple of days ago and I can't see a post new link there any more, but this is possilbly because I am thick).
If you go to post new message, there's a link that says switch to image mode and you can upload from there.
