But if you had been joking, I would have looked an idiot for falling for it. So I added the caveat that I was playing nicely because I wasn't sure whether you were setting us up for a comedy fall.

Incidentally, there is an expression about the "collar and cuffs" matching. Or the Americanised version, "Does the carpet match the drapes?" It's supposed to mean, "Is this person a fake blonde or real" since this is usually - but not always - obvious once the pants hit the deck.
Oh my god. I've just realised that this means you might never have seen a ginger person naked!

Actually I have, somewhat unfortunately.I just wasn't sure if the same kinda thing applied to blondes. I've had blonde friends who've told me theirs are dark brown like everyone else's before, you see.
