I'm a little surprised
that this film was allowed into the cinemas in Germany. I was under the impression that, even to this day, WW2 was a massively sensitive and taboo subject.

It is a sensitive subject but not taboo

You should come on holiday to Germany and do these types of jokes
I swear noone has ever seen a Brit do them, so you'd be an original :)

Strangely enough, the picture painted by John Cleese 30 years ago isn't entirely accurate or relevant today

It was a joke!
God, have you been in Germany so long you've lost your sense of humour?

I have a very dry sense of humour, so no, not really ;)
"Goosestep, funnywalk funnywalk, dont mention the war, 2 fingers on top lip" jokes for me just get old, boring and unoriginal after hearing them for the trillionth* time

I heard there was a massive gap in time around that period where
nothing really important happened.
