Have you worked out how long you'd have to leave it until there was an iteration with stable orbits?

Answer: not yet. There might be some obscure combination of starting sizes, starting speeds, and force constant that makes it more likely to be stable, which is why an options screen would be handy, but I doubt it really. Oh and I sometimes tried changing the inverse square law to an inverse arbitrary exponent law, like N1.2, which was mildly amusing but didn't help either.
