I'm also currently writing a screenplay which will involve a prolonged torture scene to happy and gay 1950s music, followed by a massive killing spree to god knows what.

And as far as I know that must be the earliest instance of using subversive music.

N.B. Basically all of my youtube videos are just clips of films with bizaare music cut over them. One of them even being clips from a warfilm with the people lipsyncing to Dexys Midnight Runners.
