# As if there needed to be more proof that the prequels were shit, but they didn't have the bizaare bredth of accents that the original films did.
Considering the Empire were always english the proto empire could have used the phrase "Hell-oooo old spot!" at least once!
(, Tue 10 Feb 2009, 2:48, archived)
# i dunno, i watched all three prequels yesterday and really enjoyed them
apart from the first one. that was awful. mostly because of the hilariously west indian accented Jar Jar Binks. Its been nearly ten years and it still hurts

# I'll tell you what doctor who needs more of.
Slightly whimsical but deranged Englishmen with laser chainsaws. I was thinking about this just earlier. Especially if they appear in a cloud of smoke with a think gruff voice going: "Hail to the king baby, arooooo-...no sorry." And then cut someone in half.

# have you seen My Name is Bruce?
I was hoping for cheesy nonsence.. but it was self knowingly cheesey nonsence.. which just devalues it completely.. and also 3 amigos had already been remade into tropic thunder.

# I have not, haven't even seen the man with no brain or whatever it was called.
Does it have me in it pretending to be a 1940s Englishman whilst whistling 'If I only had a heart' and accidentally decapitating people?
(, Tue 10 Feb 2009, 3:03, archived)
# the Man with the Screaming Brain

as I was bitching earlier, it's only on zone 1 DVD and I don't want to watch it on some shitty computer!

# no
the link was formed on "hail to the king baby"

butI woul dwach that film.. i think a massmurder sequence to that music would work.. as my to favourite movie moments are when everything explodes and shit hits the fan inMetropolis(anime) to the tune of I can't stop loving you by ray charles.. and in princess when the priest blows up the pornographers place of filming to the tune of No regrets.. but the original french version by edith piaf

I'm also currently writing a screenplay which will involve a prolonged torture scene to happy and gay 1950s music, followed by a massive killing spree to god knows what.

# hehhehheh!

and speaking of inappropriate music this still one of all-time favourite moments in film

# It's got to be the end of Dr Strangelove for me.
And as far as I know that must be the earliest instance of using subversive music.

N.B. Basically all of my youtube videos are just clips of films with bizaare music cut over them. One of them even being clips from a warfilm with the people lipsyncing to Dexys Midnight Runners.
