If you have poles, those are great for ground work and riding.

I really like setting up an L shape with 4 poles (set trotting width apart). You can walk forward through the L (either out the ends over the pole, or making the turn), or back through it like in a trail course. Then you can also walk or trot over the pairs of poles - one pair at a time, or making small circles that put you over both pairs.
