I know one thing
that Nintendo will ever publish. Anything for grown-ups :P
Edit:// and to be honest there are no consoles in my house nor will there ever be. My son will not grow up to be subverted by shite that serves no purpose.

My console (+games and extras) was kinda of supplied by 'NUTS' magazine in a roundabout way :)

I did have a PS2 for a while
but it only served as the dvd player for the bedroom.
I have high hopes for my child and in the same way that you have fat kids because you feed them rubbish I'm of the opinion that the mind works the same way.
He starts military school in 2 and a half years and they are going to be impressed ;)

opinion? it's fact
I'm so retarded now if I merely turn on a tv I am suddenly compelled to drool
I really should be using my spare time to study instead of looking at nonsense on the internet, the brian is turning to jelly

Modern military training uses computer games
Its becoming popular in UK and US armies.

you know, in the late 60's they tried to use pong style games for reaction training
the conclusion at the time was "it's crap"
:D
tho yes, they do use some slightly more realised games these days

And your point is?
I've not discounted video gaming. We do some of that together.
I'm saying that driving little cartoon cars around and pretending to be a rock star by pressing coloured buttons are not on his agenda.

Are you fucking kidding?
That's better than I could expect. Think of the fun we'd have discussing cars.

fun is not on his agenda?
Running over people and pretending to shred guitar is pure fun.

Fucking this.
I don't get why people think gaming is less worthwhile than say, board games or darts. It's a game - the fact that it's on a screen doesn't detract from that.

you should know better than to
be backing someone up when they are assuming things rather than accepting the facts.
I've not said a bad word about video gaming. I just don't do consoles because anything worthwhile on a console is on a PC, looking and playing much better and the rest is pointless junk filling in dead-time for chavs and wasters after Jeremy Kyle has finished.

I was talking about the facts as stated by me
per my son and what he is allowed and not allowed to do. Every counter offered here has been to something I never actually wrote.
Assumption, it's a waste of everyone's time.

You see you are doing it again.
reading some of my words and then making comments based upon what you want me to have said rather than anything I have actually written.
I've not mentioned him being in the army ( at 12 ) but you want to tell me how the army trains then I've not mentioned that my son, who is a fine, well-balanced and very happy boy, is not allowed to have fun but you tell me that's what I'm saying.
My son, and my nephews for that matter, plays classical guitar, he has an electric guitar and a cornet. Why should he want to pretend to play when he can just go and play?
It does not have to have a 3 pin plug on it for it to give you fun.
There's the problem with consoles. It turns you into imbeciles who can't equate fun to anything other than sitting on a couch punching buttons to the shiny pixels.

And to be honest madam
I don't actually give a fuck. I know the difference between educational and mind-numbing.
