The trouble with these things is
you can't please everyone.
If they made an adaptation that kept the fanboys quiet it would make about $5million openign weekend and then no one else would go and see it.
And fanboys will moan if their favourtie frame from the book isn't included...

true... I am fine with changes to make it fit, as to say, but making huge great changes to the plot seems a bit pointless.
also, it's far to big to fit into one film, much like LotR was, to I expect bits to be chopped.
