You know what I just realized?
Brits always chastise Americans for dropping Us from words like colour and armour, and go nuts when we pronounce 'Edinburgh' as 'Ed-in-berg'... but then we pronounce the word 'borough' (as in a borough of New York City) with the U intact AND as 'burra'.
