I would much rather watch some old Hitchcock or watch some Almodovar or Amenabar.
I do have horrendously weird taste in films. I seem to either watch absolutely brilliant films or terrible terrible comedies.

Yeah, I did go through a phase
of watching a hell of a lot of films a couple of years back, but I have this terrible habit of just watching the same films over and over. For example, when I saw City of Lost Children, I ended up watching it about 5 times that week :)

i do that as well, mostly because if i watch a great movie i want every friend i know to watch it.
i think i saw the big lebowski 7 or 8 times in a fortnight when i first saw it. city of god is the same. there's so much in there you can't digest in one watch alone. the octopus especially

Ah! Redemption.
It seems we do have a lot in common taste wise :D
The Big Lebowski is normally never out of my DVD player for more than a month at a time, and I love City of God. Did you see the TV series at all? Well worth a watch!

It isn't quite as gritty feeling as the film,
but is still very good.
