um I know this may sound odd butIs it wrong to assume that a random individual person is intelligent? Or is it better to suppose they are a fuckwit? Or somewhere in between?

I think something happens to the human brain on crossing the threshold of an airport, coach or ferry terminal...causing otherwise sane, polite and rational people to degenerate into terminally ignorant and rude numbskulls.
