actually, re your links below, can you explain to me in more detail where the distinct differences are. Some idiot friend' of mine keeps sending me pictures of Obama saluting Russian crowds and dressed in communist attire and I sincerely would like to point out the differences to him if you can clearly state them. I guess in socialism, not all production methods are in the people's hands (more like the state's hands), but just a few that are of social importance (like the mail, television, transportation and the like. It usually co-exists with democracy/capitalism. A communist system usually is the only system (although in modern day Russia, it's not so clear).
