The Birds for example, is terrifying because you knew the birds were real.

That is also why I enjoy World Cinema so much more than hollywood. They don't have the massive budgets, so they have to do things for real. Also, as they can't really afford to have a failure of a film, they make sure that any project is a great story.

That was rather stunning. Also, if you can, check out Bombon el Perro and The Orphanage. Belleville Rendezvous is an enjoyable animated film too :D
