You have to with any pet.It really pisses me off when you see pet owners in public let their pets dominate them. No matter how unwittingly the do it.

It's quite easy, just use the right tone of voice and sometimes slap them a bit Never leave your kids alone with a dog and always know that cats think they own you :).

My folks left me along with the dog. I think it depends on the dog.I find if cats know you're the boss they're a lot more effectonate (although they still will try and wrap you round their little fingers).

Well if you smaller or the same height of dogs they might see you as preyor competition...kids usually touch them and of course it depends of the character of the dog, but even the luvely dogs can give a warning snap.
