I think you might be mistakinga policeman with a gorilla, or a dobermann. one is a uniformed officer of the law, the other an aggressive animal.

again, there is an important differencea police officer is not "the biggest guy in the pub". and it's a false analogy, because in this instance the big guy can hit the petite femme with impunity, but she can't hit back because he's a boy in blue.
and EVEN the biggest bloke in the pub, pretty much any pub, wouldn't hit a woman half his size. he'd glass her boyfriend instead.
so that's an insult to bar-room bruisers everywhere. and a cop-out for the copper.
