Haha, the vodka should've taken care of that fear though
I eat the worms (usually, they're presented separately). I believe it's more a thing for the tourists now. The worms were originally put in the bottles to verify there was enough alcohol in there to preserve the worm.

It wasn't fear of contamination...
...it was fear of having a scorpion in my mouth, even a dead one.
Although I did feel very annoyed with myself afterwards :/

I found that eating crickets and grasshoppers isn't that bad
it's even a bit nice (although these were quite dry due to roastiness and chilis and salt).
I think I'd try a small alcohol-drenched scorpion, even if I was sober. Well, probably ;)

According to the label, they're delicious lightly fried with a little garlic...
...and eaten on a cracker with some cream cheese.
