Would you expect the doctors to be able to graft a face on and immediately every nerve was connected and every muscle responding from day 1?
The reason it looks like it does is simply that the face is still literally trying to slide off because there will be little to no muscle control for a very long time.

At least the poor girl has some future that does not involve hiding away.
