# You know what's good for that?
a corned beef sandwich.

# That reminds me. I've had my second failed radish crop in 2 years from the same batch of seed
so I'm going to uproot them today, use them as salad leaves instead and plant some rocket.

Going to crop my first lot od spinach for lunch though. Yummy.

# we've got good radish this year
a little small but very tasty
(, Wed 3 Jun 2009, 11:57, archived)
# the bulbs haven't developed at all on mine.
Not a bad thing though. The smaller leaves and tap root are great as salad leaves.

# My tomato plants are 6" tall now - I'm so ridiculously proud.
My peppers are lagging behind a bit, and my garlic is looking very sad :(
EDIT: None of these are euphemisms.

# bumper year for toms
our first will be ready in about a week

our chilli and peppers are also looking a little sad too.

Broad beans and peas looking fab, courgettes need more light and the opium crop looks set to allow me to retire. Just seeing if you are still reading.

# New show about growing your own stuff.
The usual. At least it's preferable to have him making money rather than MacDonalds.
His money had had a positive effect.

I think he's great

# I really should get www.e3ta.com done. I have the domain, just need someone who can code (or get the chance to learn)
Just been feeding Reg my garden wood pigend. Lovely looking bird but I can't help thinking that he'd taste lovely too.
(, Wed 3 Jun 2009, 12:16, archived)
# feed him with chestnuts and rosemary first
(, Wed 3 Jun 2009, 12:20, archived)
# hahaha
He's been coming her for years now. I think he's a bit long in the beak for eating.
He's also lovely company. If I've fed him he'll come sit next to me not wanting anything while I'm reading.
He even settled on my lap once (bum outwards for pooing).

# Mmmm wet garlic.
I'm limited spacewise. So all I have is spinach, chillies, grpaes, herbs, radishes, asparragus and rocket going in today.
(, Wed 3 Jun 2009, 12:05, archived)

# I live my vine.
Bought it two years ago and it died off. Came back next year and managed to get three shoots to about 4 foot and this years is making a break for freedom.
(, Wed 3 Jun 2009, 12:07, archived)
# ours was in a large pot last year
but is in the ground this year and was well trimmed back. The shoots and leaves are looking very strong. It is in a great position too.

# Mine right in the sunniest corner.
After it doed off I tried putting BBQ ash there as I know that they like acidic soil.
I really recommend it. It rocketed up afterward.

# Rocket = pointy veg
Blergh to rocket.

Some animal or other has attacked my marrow plants. Not best pleased. 2 out of three rhubarb plants are on the go but it's only their first year so not really worried about them. Toms, runner beans and strawbs going great guns. Spinach and lettuce, not so much :O(
(, Wed 3 Jun 2009, 12:10, archived)
# we got loads of lettuce too
but it's dying back now. We planted them in a cloche back in March
(, Wed 3 Jun 2009, 12:12, archived)

# don't think so. the cloche lid broke off

# bumma
My strawberries are going rampant. I'm going to have to put some beer traps gown as it looks like I'm going to have a bumper crop but I've already seen some snail trails.
(, Wed 3 Jun 2009, 12:26, archived)
# Nicely. I didn't expect all of my seeds to germinate, and they did, the cheeky things.
I now have a very crowded kitchen and balcony.
(, Wed 3 Jun 2009, 12:12, archived)
# I did love the HFW Spring series.
as it did really show people that they had no excuse for not growing stuff if they had no garden.
The whole C4 food fight thing was good too as it highlighted a lot of my beliefs.

# There's crappy pizza in the canteen
so I'll have the tomato soup.
Dinner will be beef roast 2 left from Monday.
