# Same thing happened to me
Got turned down for a design degree, got a job fixing watches instead.
Now I am working as a watch designer as head art monkey because I showed my manager my work.

Qualifications are helpful but not always needed.

I got rejected from uni three years running, thought sod it, started doing some illustration with a couple of chaps last year and we are finally getting some notice, with our first show in August.
