I far as I remember it was £160p for the paper and 40p for the vendor. They they put the price up and not the vendor's commission so basically they were selling less for a lower percentage.

perhaps a supermarketcould do a range offering fruit and veg, picked by only the finest 'British workers' and see how little they sell because the wage needed to draw them would significantly increase the price.
