I just watched the trailer and I wholeheartedly agree.

I think Burton did a stunning job on Charlie and the Chocolate factory so he has my faith :)

I really liked his version of willy wonka..a lot of people don't

Yeah, I've been looking forward to 9 for months since I found out

they were making a full length version.

Also, the Willy Wonka thing, people were always gonna hate it because they grew up with the Gene Wilder version. Both have their merits, but only Burton's really felt like a Dahl book.

it's barely anything to do with him

its an expansion of a short by a Shane Acker. Burton liked it and funded it, he's only down as Producer.

I thought he had worked a lot on the script and stuff with Acker though?

Whatever, if it is even half as good as the short it is gonna be stunning :D

to be honest from a technical standpoint I'm yet to be impressed

the chunks I've seen would have been impressive had they come out when the short did and everyone still liked the Matrix, but compared to the animator skills and shader experts at Pixar and Dreamworks it's a touch flat and wooden. Fingers crossed the story is a cut above the competition (which isn't hard with Dreamworks)
