Why do we call just these games RPGs?
Aren't all games RPGs? 'Cos you take on, or play, the role of another character.

Not true
I've spent a ridiculous amount of time playing a game called Bubble Spinner (it's great - but only play it if you do NOT value your time) and never once did I assume an alternative identity.
