SPOILER: All the rooms switches effect each other. Which you can't see, LOL.
Not done platinum yet, but I expect it is the same as it was in Diamond/Pearl.

That is the key. Jot down the position of a room when you leave.
There are a couple ramps that will let you get to the next room in two ways.
Try each and note the changes. That should give you the edge to solve it.
