# I'm confused - is your opinion that his release was good or bad?

# The guy is dying
irrespective of his possible innocence, it was the right thing to do.

The problem has all stemmed from the reception he received he he arrived back in Lybia. Which he had no control over.

# Ah right. That seems reasonable. :)

# I disagree
If he did indeed play a part in the murder of @270 civilians, then he should have stayed in jail until he dies

Would you release Mira Hindley, or Rosemary West ? I wouldn't!

# If he did.
There was evidence denied admissiblity at his trial, which even families of the victims questioned. Curiously, the American families seem less circumspect about the possibility of his guilt. I just wonder if the US keeping Kenny Richey on Death Row for 20 years despite Scottish pleas and doubts about his guilt had anything to do with Kenny Macaskill's decision.

# The Americans seem to want to blame someone for any crime...and anyone will do
Mc Grahi probably didnt buy the bomb parts or plant it himself, but this doesnt mean he had no part in the planning of the crime. Saddam didnt personally kill thousands of people but was rightly found to have been responsible for their murders, Mc Grahi may bear a similar responsibility, (although I disagree with the death penalty for anyone)
