I appreciate they're going for a different angleand making it more about Dorian than the portrait, but er, isn't the whole point of the tale that there are always repurcussions?
I also hear that the horrors that they decided to actually show in the new version are actually pretty tame and the 45 version with its use of suggestion works far better.

Suggestion always works better.The horrors you imagine yourself are always gonna outweigh the horrors that can be shown.
