Also given the nature of the film and raid it is about, and the hundreds of deaths involved on all sides (for good or not, historians still argue) Arguing about the possible racial connotations of Guy Gibsons dog strikes me as an odd priority...

but the horror of hundreds or thousands of innocent people drowning to disable the manufactoring industry of Nazi Germany is very thought provoking. The fire-storm Blitzing of Dresden and Hamburg is also something to think about. Hmmm. much is lost in War - Yoda
