# might be different if you've got the full programe
but there is no really easy way for elements, probably best to build a shall check pattern (4 squares), then save it to the 'patten fill' options. you can then just flood a larger image.
(in the time it took to work that out someones probably given a better answer)

# This sounds workable.
But how do I save something to pattern fill?

# I WORKED IT OUT!
Define the squares as pattern, then use the fill tool. Thanks for help people.

# ah
its possible, but i can't remember how you do it. :( so just look in "help" and it might be there.
or just use the default "tiles-smooth" pattern fill and colour it in.

edit: ah, you figured it. :)

# It's in edit/define pattern in CS2.
Then you can select pattern fill with the fill tool and it'll be in the list of patterns you can choose from.
