# TJ: Quick bit of photoshop help anyone?
If I want to flood a canvas with a checkerboard pattern is there a quick way of doing that?
(, Sat 12 Dec 2009, 19:23, archived)
# Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc. Then simply jab at the keyboard and break down into fits of tears.
(, Sat 12 Dec 2009, 19:25, archived)
# I'm already a master at that.
(, Sat 12 Dec 2009, 19:26, archived)
# I'm rubbish at it.
Er google it and steal?
(, Sat 12 Dec 2009, 19:26, archived)

# Ah now I know where I'm going wrong.
Er, create a grid in one layer then fill with the paint-bucket thingy.
(prefers Paint.net for quick stuff)

# might be different if you've got the full programe
but there is no really easy way for elements, probably best to build a shall check pattern (4 squares), then save it to the "patten fill" options. you can then just flood a larger image.
(in the time it took to work that out someones probably given a better answer)
(, Sat 12 Dec 2009, 19:30, archived)
# This sounds workable.
But how do I save something to pattern fill?
(, Sat 12 Dec 2009, 19:32, archived)
# I WORKED IT OUT!
Define the squares as pattern, then use the fill tool. Thanks for help people.
(, Sat 12 Dec 2009, 19:38, archived)
# ah
its possible, but i can't remember how you do it. :( so just look in "help" and it might be there.
or just use the default "tiles-smooth" pattern fill and colour it in.

edit: ah, you figured it. :)
(, Sat 12 Dec 2009, 19:39, archived)
# It's in edit/define pattern in CS2.
Then you can select pattern fill with the fill tool and it'll be in the list of patterns you can choose from.
