I also wish to offer an improvement idea for your new-fangled 'canoe'

I suggest small holes in the bottom to allow the air to mix with the water to increase oxygenation of the rivers.

I like this idea,

however, surely the bigger the holes the bigger the oxygenation? I shall throw rocks at the bottom of my canoe in the hope of making a big series of large holes post haste!
