# Got a txt yesterday evening telling me my guinea pig Syd had copped it.
Bought him, and all the stuff, two years ago without telling my landlord.
I wasn't the best pet-keeper - didn't have a clue what to do once he started reeking of piss, for example - but I would've got the hang of it before he suffered too much. He was a charming lil' fella.
Said cunt of a landlord, an alcoholic with a bipolar disorder and a soft spot for Staffordshire Bull Terriers, ordered me to get rid of 'it' quick, before 'it' ended up in a skip, once he discovered Syd's existence. It seemed to be pure spite, but there was no reasoning with the prick. Even his own children despised him.
So I made a few calls, and my mate's nephews agreed to take him in. Not the nicest pair of lads. Syd was kept in a garage and, from what I can tell, wasn't tormented as such. And it was better than being fed to a Staffy.
But I think he was neglected. I suspect hypothermia. Neglect rather than out-and-out abuse. They just got bored with him, and busy-busy parents allowed it to happen.

Rest in peace, Syd. Keep on making that funny noise.

# That is very, very sad :(
I bought my girlfriend a robotic guinea pig last year and a go go hamster this christmas. She hasn't managed to kill them yet. I would never, ever trust her with real animals.

# I now know not to trust myself with real animals. Learnt my lesson - at Syd's expense, it seems.
Can't even take reasonable care of myself yet!

# Oh god
That reminds me, I bought a girlfriend a Tamagochi once.
She handed it back after a fortnight, saying: "Sorry, it's turned out a fucking retard."
She was right. It had.
I was rid or her fairly swiftly.
