Oh man this reminds me I had an ACE dream last night.
I'd developed my own form of Parkour (of which, the real thing is, lets face it, very, very wanky) and I was wearing cowboy boots with heels on, which allowed me to slide along the backs of benches and stuff - like blunt slides or grinds when you're skateboarding.
It was ace, though I was gettting the piss taken out of me quite a lot by passers by, but I was having fun.

is 'Parkour' French for 'jumping about like a twat'?
what a cool dream
I dreamt I was some kind of Jason Bourne character at the weekend, driving round India in some kind of bicycle/ambulance hybrid, which had all sorts of James Bond type gadgets in it.

I think the literal translation is
"Pussy who was too frightened of skateboarding but wanted to hang out with the cool kids at school."

I have a friend who would probably disagree with that statement ;-)

So what is parkour then?
He certainly counts balance and movement as part of the whole thing!

I understood Parkour to be "Urban Free Running"
The pic of the guy on the skyscraper - that's more climbing/free climbing, innit?

He is the one who does all the flips and stuff, he balanced along a beam to walk out there
He says he does parkour, I take his word for it.
If he did that on a beam that was only 6 foot off the ground, parkour or climbing? ;-)

Hey man - I didn't mean to upset either you or your friend. I'm sure he's absolutely hardcore.
I was just having a little joke.
I'm sorry.

I'm sorry.
No offence taken, the problem with internet comments is the way something is conveyed is often lost.
I wasn't getting defensive in anyway, just playing devils advocate.
Its the same with giving a genre to a band, Its all down to personal interpretation! :-)
