I only have upmost repsect for themnever met a bad copper, call me lucky if you want, but they've picked me up, looked after people I know in need, taken a ridiculous amount of shit and stayed calm, and never put a foot wrong in my experience.
I guess its all down to the person that is the copper that you have had dealings with.
Wouldn't say I was sucking up to them though.

I've met plenty of police, both friendly and unfriendly, they're not hard to get on with. They're just people, after allbut your portrayal of them as some sort of benign force protecting "You" and "society" from black and white portrayals of criminals is just naieve.
I don't think the ambulance service is at all relevant.
