This is a link post What is the purpose of this border?
I'm seeing this on cartoons e.g. Rick & Morty.

This is a normal post More difficult for bots to detect?

This is a normal post Yeah, that was one of the hypothesis
It's immensely popular though and hurting the resolution...

This is a normal post I think it's God's way of telling you that you should stop watching children's cartoons at your age

This is a normal post I had no idea that they had got so far as series 6 for Adventure Time.
Are the later series worth watching?

This is a normal post I have no idea..
I saw few episodes and skimmed wiki about it. I'm no expert about Adventure Time.

I'm pretty sure it's for copyright bots. For rick and morty watch these ones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6VXOXAg_bM They avoid the bots with inverted colours, just invert colours in your OS settings to undo it (in Mac, go settings - accesibility - invert colours. In windows some other shit, I dunno - think it sez how in the video comments).

This is a normal post Uh, a bit desperate
so that's why I saw mirrored/downtuned The Simpsons lately.

This is a normal post It also means they can present it at a higher resolution
without actually having that material. Rather than being scaled up to fill your full screen, it just needs to scale up a bit.

This is a normal post It's to get kids to sit closer to the screen so they can see it better,
and then be blasted with adverts for toys, sweets and fast food every ten minutes.

This is a normal post No adverts, no borders, hundreds of stream mirrors.
