I've been tweaking my Subaru but I'm not doing anything crazy as it's my commuter car. I'm planning on getting another commuter car soon and tuning the Subaru (2005 WRX STI). I think 500 out of a GTO is reasonable, just make sure you get the suspension right otherwise you'll be picking it out of fields/bus stops/drives every week...

Tien all around, but it is slammed.
320 stock, so not a stretch, but the pistons are made of chocolate, so might go belt and braces and take the head off and use wiseco's

You can put an A3 engine straight into a Mk1 engine bay
Just saying like, just for 'reference' 0-60 4.2 seconds, will best a Gallardo
