Limitation is still an important part of the creativity because if a director chooses to use CG to create "more-or-less anything", and does it badly/unconvincingly, he has failed in many beholding eyes. Learning how to use it wisely and combining it with practical effects & in-frame reference material introduces a new set of creative limitations for a talented director.
