This is a normal post Part of the west's problem
is the rather glib and arrogant assumption that everybody in the world, or at least an overwhelming majority, desperately wants a liberal western style democracy with sexual equality and gay rights etc. I'm far from convinced that this is the case.

does not make you automatically a western style democracy fanboy. Many want a share of what we've got, but that doesn't mean they share our values.

But they should expect to be told to fuck directly to off if they want to enjoy the benefits of our values without adopting them.

What actually happens is that we're told how fucking wonderful their so called values are and how we must respect and revere them. Then excuses are made for all the acts of violence committed in the name of their values, and a blind eye is turned to the misogyny and homophobia that is central to their values.
