This is a normal post Do Asians have a right to yodel?
I guess that makes me a racist since that was my first thought. More importantly, why would they yodel. Mystery.

This is a normal post Ever listened to the huge variety of vocal styles from Asia? you would have to say the Swiss borrowed yodeling!
I mean - Tuvan Throat Singing, Hue Province duet vocal-interaction, Chinese Opera, all sorts of singing that has gone on for thousands of years.

Nobody "invented" yodeling, it is just another thing the human voice can do.

Check out this Vietnamese "Vocorder" and an example of vocal-interaction singing at about 8:00

This is a normal post I just want to know what causes the yodeling.

This is a normal post My vocal training is limited - I mostly play tuba, but I can sing both Bass and Falsetto
but I do know that Yodeling is not that difficult to learn - a friend of mine has figured it out with no lessons.

It is a natural "catch" in the vocal process of singing between the "head" and "chest" voices.

A whole lot more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yodeling
