Yeah I don't even think Microsoft know what they are doing with the Hololens
on one side they say it's an enterprise tool, then they show people playing alien shooting games and minecraft on it. Plus £3k for a dev unit makes you wonder how much the final product will cost.
Certainly looks like we are close to getting the VR we were promised as kids that never really happened.

VR vs. AR
I think VR will turn out to be great for immersive entertainment - AR will be much better suited to "real world" applications
for instance, check out what the company "daqri" is doing with their "smart helmet" (snigger)
