Whoever has suggested this doesn't know how nuclear bombs work
A nuke takes a controlled, shaped detontation to set off the fission.
Its not like uranium is a gas or is soluble, so it will just sit around - It's a metal.
So in summary if the story wasn't bullshit to start with, there's only a tiny localised threat from a "decayed nuke".
