This is a normal post As the owner of a Vegan girlfriend, I can sympathise with this guy in principal.
But the majority of outspoken social media 'Vegans' are simply self-righteous trendhunters looking for the next cool thing to be part of. I absolutely guarantee that most of them aren't real vegans at all.
Personally, the whole Vegan thing isn't for me, but I respect other people's lifestyle choices as long as they're genuine and well informed.
My Vegan doesn't piss and moan about the fact I wear animal based products or enjoy a good steak, and I don't piss and moan at her because she doesn't. I do admit that I'd be pretty fucked off if she was given a 'Vegan' meal at a restaurant that turned out to be non-vegan though.

Basically, she tries to avoid using or consuming any items that have been produced where animals have been used as some kind of commodity.
The easiest way to explain it is that she basically has nothing to do with animal byproducts whenever she has the option.
Ironically, she's a Chef. But unlike most of the 'vocal vegans' she doesn't have a stick up her arse about preparing meat/dairy/fish dishes for guests. She'll quite gladly talk about being a Vegan and explain why she's made that choice if you were to ask her about it, but that's where it ends. Like me, she regards these "HI I'M VEGAN BY THE WAY, AND IF YOU AREN'T A VEGAN THEN YOU ARE BENEATH ME" idiots with as much vilification as I do.

Facebook Vegans announcing their lifestyle as if they're some kind of great ambassador for a new and more morally acceptable existence are fucking absurd.
