They think they're being really deep by standing up to the man but they just come across as intolerant, mindless arseholes.
The UK's not much better though. Student unions and other groups have in engaged in the most pathetic displays of censorship and lilly-livered political correctness.

Student unions should be apolitical and a good start would be to split student union fees into mandatory and voluntary portions. All the political socs and general grandstanding shitbaggery would be funded from the voluntary portion.

As a non-American; I ignore this stuff and my life is all the better for it.
It's pretty easy/inconsequential to ignore; uni students are known for being idiotic and rebellious.
