Reminds me of a joke:
A physicist, an engineer and a mathematician are invited to take part in a psychological study. They're shown into a room with three chairs at one end an one chair at the other, sitting on which is a scantily clad, absolutely stunning woman. Each takes a seat and the tester explains the experiment: "When you hear the bell, you may each move forward half the distance between you and my lovely assistant. Is everyone ready?"
The mathematician and the physicist scoff, stand up and leave the room while the engineer remains. The experiment begins, the bell rings and the engineer dutifully edges his chair forward.
After a while watching, the mathematician barges in. "You idiot! Don't you realise that you'll never reach her?!".
"Of course," he replies with a smirk, "but after two more bells I'll be close enough for all practical purposes."
