Wasn't there a story about one of their live performances involving some 'interaction' between a radio controlled tank and a woman? Possibly an urban myth but it was one of the rumours going round in the 70's.

They did all sorts of crazy stage bits - every show was a total production!
I didn't see the remote control tank thing - maybe it had something to do with this album release? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remote_Control_(The_Tubes_album)
