That's spectacularly dumb
Because you don't have any materia at that point, so are still basically shite...and you still have to grind a similar number of hours to max out your stats in the sunken plane on disc 3.

It's hard enough leveling up against bad guys that would give you lots of xp near the end

I remember spending ages levelling up at the docks somewhere in the middle of the game to get an advantage
I can still hear the marching fanfare music now. Took me ages at that point in the game :o/
