Saw a band called Bossk recently. Not too similar but if you like slow and heavy they're great live. Quite doomy. Apparently Mogwai are notoriously loud live...

Trying to get my band stuff recorded at the moment, and have been busy with that autism song I listed the other week, that and having a daughter. Need to get back and write some more folky stood though. Watch this space ;o)
